This is part of the grateful series.
Ah, the familiar new semester blues.
As I write this post, I’m anticipating a day starting on a new team at work, and beginning my classes for the winter semester.
As my time off comes to an end, I’m saddened that I won’t be able to prioritize making music and writing as much.
Before I throw myself a pity party, I want to express some gratitude for this segment of my life.
I’m incredibly grateful that I get to study a subject at an academic level that I’m interested in. A field that sparks my genuine curiosity, and one that challenges me mentally.
I’m grateful for acquiring working experience at Shopify. For the people I get the work with, and the things I get to work on. For my mentors, and my colleagues.
I’m grateful that my problems during these trying times are limited to school and work. Others are not so lucky, for their safety and health is on the line.
I get butterflies in my stomach, and I’m absorbed by the blues of the unknown as I think about what’s to come.
All I know is that I welcome it with open arms – I’m grateful that I can.
